Focke Wulf Ref 4
Focke-Wulf  FW190
The name Focke-Wulf comes from the 2 designer Heinrich Focke and George Wulf. They started already in the beginning of 1920 to build aeroplane in a basement in Bremen. This was of course not allowed because of the Versailles treaty. But for Germany it was all in line with the statement that "German air force was not dead their spirit was still alive".
FW-190 was manufactured during the period 1939-1945. It was equipped with for German manner unusual engine. A 14 cyl. BMW 801, air cold star engine with best power output of 1700 ps, highest speed of 685 km/h. It was in service from 1941. The airplane had extraordinary good qualities and was superior the English Spitfire till they got the1943 Spitfire XII. The model was mostly used on the eastern front. It was strong an could with advantage also be used as a light bomber. Production figures was over 25000 ex. This type can also be seen at Luftfahrtsmuseum Hannover, where you also can see a separate engine. Se also this link over preserved Focke-Wulf fighters. You can order (2007) a replica at Flug Werk GMBH.

Heinkel 111 Ref 4
Heinkel 111
Production period 1935-1944. 2 Jumo 211 in line engines each on 1340 ps and a highest speed of 470 km/h. Bomb cargo of 2000 kg. About 15000 ex was build. Developed already 1934 it was used as civil passenger plane. The first models to be bombers came 1936 and some of them was sent to Spain. Here Heinkel had a large testing area in the civil war and also for the German forces. 1940 the all glazed nose was mounted. In daylight the aircraft was vulnerable toward fighters and badly protected to defend itself because  its low speed. H-111 had large losses during the battle of Britain and after it was transferred to be a night attach fighter.

Li-2 Ref 4
IL12/14P, Li-2
2 9-cyl. star engines with 735 kw each and a max speed of 270 km/h.1937 Soviet union got a licens to build DC-3 and the Russians commissioned the development division under Boris Lissunow to adjust it for Russian conditions. The airplane was change to the metrical system (!!)and was named to PS-84. It got a slight lesser span and longer range. Russians engines was mounted with a lower power output, 750 kw. This lowered the speed drastically. Different variants was bomber, transporters and passenger plane. No money was never paid to Douglas in America. After the war the DC-3 and Li-2 was developed buy Iluyshin to the model shown. One DC-3 has parked itself outside car museum Skokloster in Sweden. It was flown there at its last flight and landed on farm field outside.

Ilyushin-18 Ref 4
Ilyushin-18 1959
This Russian passenger airplane was equipped with 4 turboprop engines with power output of 2950 kw. It was flown first time 1957. Production started 1959 and it was produced 10 years ahead. Aeroflot used it for within the country transport of passengers and later for charter. It was rebuilt ones when the passenger figure was increased to 100. Also stronger engines was mounted. 560 airplanes was delivered.

Ju-52 Ref 4
Junkers Ju-52 Also called "Tante Ju".
Produced first time 1936. 3 BMW132 powered 725 ps and max speed of 264 km/h. Total production was 5500. The first version, 1931, had only one engine and the pilots was forced to crawl through the cabin window from the front. A small "Brookland window" was put in front to prevent the engine oil to hit the pilots. You can see such a plane at Luftfarhtsmuseum in Hannover just behind the exhibition fair of Hannover. This museum also put in money to take home 4 Ju-52 that was sunk in the Norwegian fjord outside Narvik. You can get an interesting video from this mission. After the war several 100 was produced in Spain where Germany during the civil war had tested it through war material help for Franco. The aircraft also was used by the German paratroops to invade Crete. Max Schemling once heavy weight champion jumped out of such a plane and survived the war.

Junkers Ju-52 Also Called "Tante Ju"
This is the flying Ju-52 air plane in Sinsheim. An excellent website about Professor Junkers is available. The site describe all different airplane that he has been involved in. Junker was a good engine constructor. Those are also described.

Ju-87 Ref 4
Junkers Ju-87 Stuka.
Ju 87 was equipped with one Junkers Jumo 211 with power of 880 kw and a top speed of 314 km/h. 1 pilot and one crew handled the machine gun which was directed backwards. The plane could carry one or four bombs at 500 kg or 50 kg respectively. Ju-87 was built in 5700 ex. The main task was to be used as a dive bomber. For this it was excellent. Later in the war the low speed became a problem so the plane was withdrawn 1943 for simpler missions mainly on the east front. Later it was used as a training plane for new pilots. The aircraft in the Sinsheim exhibition hall is picked up from the bottom of Mediterranean Sea outside Saint-Tropez.

A 2 engines light bomber equipped with Junkers Jumo D211 with power of 1200 ps and a max speed of 457 km/h. Later models reach over 500 km/h. The plane had a crew of  3. 15000 aircrafts was produced. Its main missions was at the Blitz over London. It had high losses although not so many as He-111. It was later rebuilt as a night attack bomber. Note that the engine covers may not be the right size.

Bf-109 G Ref 4
Messerschmidt Bf-109 G
Produced during the time 1935-1945 with over 35000 ex. Equipped with a Mercedes DB605 12 cyl V-engine that was mounted upside down. Valves point downwards. Look at the exhaust outlets. Engine power was from 1475 to 2000 ps. Read also my text from Mercedes museum. Me 109 was produced in Regensburg and Hungary.  Usually it had 2 machine guns that fired through the propeller. One model surprisingly fired through the propeller centre. This could be done because the prop was propelled over a gear and of course not fired through the crankshaft! The arrangement was not successful. Spitfire had its guns mounted in the wings. The aircraft flow on all fronts and had only Focke-Wulf 190 as its superior. When P51-Mustang arrived to the allied, only Focke-Wulf could give it a proper fight. Last months 1945 was 2969 Me-109 produced. At that time Me-262 was developed, but the war was almost over.
A website about the development of Me-109. Thanks to the movie Battle of England are there several copies left.

Bf-109 G Ref 1
Messerschmidt Bf-109 G
For all interested fighter aircraft freaks. Look here how the last version of Me-109 with letter G looked like. Later letter was specials or never came in serious service. Note the compressor house which had got a larger diameter which forced a swelling in the body. See also the position of the engine. The crankshaft on the upper side. Shown inside the side window, done at the museum, was the petrol tank positioned just behind the pilot. Note also that landing gears was folded from inside and out. That is unusual. In a website about Israeli Air Force (in Swedish) Museum you can find a BF-109 standing in the desert,
