TVR Grantura 62 was the car that showed up after the total disaster
with Lotus 15 was over. We have now reached 1965. The TVR car was for
sale at a Lotus Elite racing drive. He had a car shop at a cross over
road to Karlavägen and his name was Harald Kronegård. The car was an
English special type and looked funny but could drive well. Equipped
with a BMC MGB 1800 cc engine and gearbox, and BMC rebuilt rear end with
2 drive shafts mounted in a VW type1 front suspension and such a one was
also mounted in front. This meant that the movements of the wheel were
straight up and down and the leaning was depending of the car. This was
not so god for racing but was the highest fashion som years ago. It
showed up that the bushings in the torsion system were worn out so I had
to start changing them and make them fit the torsions axles. After this
the car went much more steady. It was not any real club car. Time had
moved forward according to racing with a sport car. I kept the car until
1966 when my famous Ferrari appeared. Perhaps I could say something good
about the TVR, it was a mark that kept alive long time in England. My
TVR
was sold to a boy Ulf Carlkvist through Car Shop Nordberg. It was speedy
time with my car buying at that turbulent times. |
